A report from F4Wonline.com has provided further news on TNA moving to VELOCITY Network in the near future. As previously reported, TNA Wrestling was made an offer to move their “IMPACT WRESTLING” program from SpikeTV to Discovery’s VELOCITY Network beginning in 2015, but no official word has been revealed on whether TNA has signed on a dotted line to make the move happen or not.

The report gives a little more detail on Discovery’s VELOCITY Network, which is available only in HD, and is only currently accessible in less than 50 million homes. As reported, TNA moving to VELOCITY is a “worst case scenario” for the company, but may be their only shot at keeping “IMPACT WRESTLING” on the air.

According to the report, to make the move to VELOCITY would drastically change the look, roster, and company’s existence as we know it. Production costs would have to be cut dramatically, as would the trimming of their roster, which is already small as it is.

TNA has extended their contract with SpikeTV to stay on their network until 2015, giving them time to find an alternative. VELOCITY would put the TNA product in less homes than Ring of Honor has access to, and seems to be something the company would only sign-on for if it is their only hope.

TNA Wrestling has seen their share of struggles over the last couple of years, as they could not come to terms with top stars Bully Ray, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, as well as with legends such as Sting and Hulk Hogan. They also shopped around to buyers, thinking they would need to sell their company, but when talks fell through, the company stayed in the hands of the Carters. Even former co-owner Jeff Jarrett parted ways with the company and has started his own promotion called Global Force Wrestling.

TNA’s recent struggles with finding a network to air their “IMPACT WRESTLING” program became even more apparent at the beginning of August, when it was announced a mere six days prior that “IMPACT WRESTLING” would be moving to Wednesdays. They had the worst rating they’ve had for “IMPACT WRESTLING” in years due to the lack of promotion in regards to their move, and it was seen as more of a failure than a success. Many believe SpikeTV and TNA moved their program to Wednesdays in response to the news that WWE’s “Smackdown” would be moving to Thursdays in October.

Editor’s Note:
Wow. This is getting to be super dramatic. The plot, as they say, thickens.
