“Smackdown” *Spoilers* For July 4

WWE taped the July 4 edition of “Smackdown” in Newark, NJ. The following are the results of the show which will air on SyFy, Friday, July 4. Thank you to @jerseyviper for corresponding with us from New Jersey.

Prior to the show, Daniel Bryan appeared in full ring gear to do a “Dave” commercial for an anti-tobacco initiative.

WWE Smackdown (07-04-14)

*Seth Rollins comes out to start the show with a promo. Dean Ambrose makes an appearance. Randy Orton comes out to save Rollins, which brings out Roman Reigns to back up Ambrose. Rollins and Orton vs Ambrose and Reigns should happen later in the broadcast. However, the match that’s made is just Orton vs Ambrose.

1) Big E def. Cesaro via Count Out.

2) Sheamus def. Alberto Del Rio.

3) Bo Dallas def. Diego. Before the match, Dallas announces that he will win the “Battleground” Battle Royal and will be the new Intercontinental Champion. Following the match, Dallas press slams El Torito.

* Chris Jericho cuts a promo in the ring on Bray Wyatt, only before being interrupted by The Miz. Miz talks up being a multi-platform media star, being “The Marine,” and takes another Code Breaker from Jericho. Jericho then leaves to a big response.

4) AJ Lee def. Eva Marie in a squash match. “You Can’t Wrestle” and “CM Punk” were boasted pretty loudly during this one. Paige was on commentary during the match.

*Damien Sandow appears as Bruce Springsteen to sing “Born in the USA.” Rusev and Lana come out to do their usual schpeel, only to be interrupted by Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.

5) Dean Ambrose def. Randy Orton via DQ. Seth Rollins is on commentary. He attacks Ambrose with his briefcase, then proceeds to continue beating Ambrose down with the help of Orton. Roman Reigns enters the fold to make the save, nailing Orton with the Superman Punch to end the show with Ambrose standing tall.
