A new edition of Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer has provided the latest news on CM Punk and if WWE management wants him back. As previously reported, Punk supposedly walked out on WWE a mere 30 minutes before “Monday Night Raw” was set to go live on Jan. 27. Rumors have been running rampant since the news of Punk’s disappearance broke, and everyone is trying to decipher what this means for the company and for Punk moving forward.

Both WWE and Punk have remained silent about the issue since news broke of Punk’s departure early Wednesday morning. However, the most popular rumor going around is that Punk was completely fed up with management and the creative direction that he was being booked. Punk was apparently gearing up for a match with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX, yet he felt like this wasn’t the right feud for him and that the match wasn’t big enough.

The report and past speculations do not say whether Punk does not believe that the feud and projected match are not big enough for him, or if they are not big enough because the build towards them has been rushed and uncertain. During his appearance at the Wizard World Comic-Con in Portland, Ore. on Jan. 24, Punk shared his frustrations with WWE management with the crowd.

He claims that if it were his company, he would book things creatively long term, something that the current WWE system just doesn’t do. No story is thought of in terms of a slow, methodic build anymore, which used to be one of the cornerstones of the professional wrestling business. Slow builds create drama and interest in fans. It’s wrestling 101. Punk says there is none of that in the current WWE system today. He says storylines, feuds, and matches are thrown together last second, sometimes with officials and creative saying that, “the fans won’t remember what was going on six weeks ok, let’s run with this.”

He also disclosed that he has basically just been phoning in his performances as of late, labeling his most recent matches as “not that good” saying that he’s basically down to just using two moves in the ring. Some reports have Punk leaving “RAW” Monday night just after telling Vince McMahon, “I’m going home.” Other reports claim that Punk and WWE officials, including McMahon and Triple H got into a heated dispute prior to Punk removing himself from the arena.

All that is known at the moment, is that Punk left the venue Monday night when he was supposed to appear live in front of a WWE audience. The report from Alvarez and Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio states that McMahon wants cooler heads to prevail and that he wants Punk back working for the company. However, Triple H is not so open to this idea. Apparently “The Game” feels disrespected by the way Punk treated their proposed storyline and match, not to mention that he is upset that Punk “took his ball and went home.” It is said that Triple H, mixed feelings or not, is letting McMahon handle the situation from here on out.
