Kevin Owens Will Face John Cena at “Elimination Chamber”
NXT Champion Kevin Owens will face United States Champion John Cena at “Elimination Chamber” on May 31. As previously reported, Owens made his “RAW” debut attacking Cena and hyping up “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable” during the May 18 edition of the flagship WWE program.
During the segment where Owens attacked Cena, the United States Champion told Owens that if he “wanted some,” to “come get some.” This led to Owens saying that he is a prize fighter, and that he would face Cena some day, but on his own terms.
Following his attack of the US Champion, Owens was seen later on in the broadcast talking with WWE COO Triple H. Renee Young then caught up with Owens, asking him what his conversation with The Authority was about.
Owens then made the announcement, that he would be facing Cena at WWE “Elimination Chamber” on May 31. It has not been confirmed on whether or not the United States Championship will be on the line, but Owens will face Cena on a major WWE Pay-Per-View.
Owens will first defend his NXT Championship against Sami Zayn on May 20 at “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable” live on the WWE Network.
