“Stone Cold Podcast” Set to Return on June 1 with Paul Heyman as the Guest

WWE announced during the “Payback” Kick-Off show that the WWE Network exclusive “Live Stone Cold Podcast” program will make a return on June 1, featuring Paul Heyman as WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s guest. Austin’s previous guests on the program have been Vince McMahon and Triple H.

Due to the controversial nature of the questions that Austin asked both McMahon and Triple H, the live WWE Network exclusive program drew big numbers for the Over-the-Top streaming avenue. Since his last edition with Triple H, WWE has used Chris Jericho in a similar format, hosting “Live! With Chris Jericho” in place of “Live Stone Cold Podcast.”

Rumors surrounded the switch, stating that WWE officials, namely McMahon, didn’t like Austin shooting with a lot of the questions on himself and Triple H, leading to the less controversial editions of the program with Jericho. However, Austin claimed these rumors were just rumors, and that he’d be working with WWE Network again in the future.

Heyman has been announced as Austin’s next guest, which is sure to be extremely revealing and non-kayfabe. WWE has started promoting the special in order to bait new WWE Network subscribers to stick with the service through the free month of May in order to watch the live podcast following “Monday Night Raw” on June 1.

Editor’s Note:

First, they add “Elimination Chamber” to the schedule on May 31 out of NO WHERE…now they add this. Safe to say they want stock holders to see the same kind of numbers they saw from Quarter 1 in Quarter 2. Let’s see if all these marketing ploys work.
