Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray has issued a challenge to CM Punk. Following the reports claiming Punk has walked out on World Wrestling Entertainment, Bully Ray took to Twitter to challenge “The Best in the World” to a match on TNA’s flagship program, “Impact Wrestling.”
Punk reportedly walked out on WWE on Jan. 27, just before “Monday Night Raw” was scheduled to go on air. Apparently, Punk told WWE officials that he was “going home,” and left the arena. Punk was slated to appear on the program and work a match at WrestleMania XXX, yet WWE has pulled “The Second City Saint” from all upcoming events.
The story has been all over the internet, even getting picked up on Yahoo News and TMZ.com. Bully Ray, hearing the story of Punk’s departure, posted the following tweet on Jan. 29,
If the rumors are true, let me be the 1st to invite @CMPunk to @IMPACTWRESTLING and get in the ring w/ me. Fans would LOVE it. Yes or no?

During both men’s respective reigns as the top tier champion for both WWE and TNA, many fans online argued about who was the better heel character and who would win in a match between them. Even former competitors and legends in the wrestling profession said that they would love to see a Bully Ray vs. CM Punk match during this time period. It seems as if Bully Ray remembers this, and wants the fans to finally see the match that they desired for 20 months ago.
