A new report from WrestleZone.com has provided some information that reveals a backstage feeling towards Batista’s return to WWE. According to the report, Batista was the major topic of discussion between WWE producers during a meeting on March 11. The initial feeling was what the company was going to do with “The Animal” since his return has been looked at by many as a “monumental flop,” but many have avoiding discussing the matter because it was Triple H who pushed for Dave Bautista to return.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the company would not be “giving up” on Batista. Many felt that he had a great weekend, as far as performance and reception goes, now that he is being presented as full on heel. WWE Creative will be playing into the fan’s disdain for “The Animal,” playing into the “Bootista” chants among other things the WWE Universe is saying about him.
One source discussed the company’s feeling towards their investment with Batista, saying,
“Now that Batista is a heel and they’re not running from the BOOTISTA taunts, WWE feels they can play into that. No one disagreed, because he’s seen as being HHH’s project and going against him right now is bad for job security.”
Sounds like writers, producers, and WWE staff members are afraid to share their honest opinions, if they clash against the opinions of WWE management, in fear of losing their job.
