A porn site may be why WWE changes the name it recently gave to Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Paige during the Aug. 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” WWE named the trio, “The Submission Sorority,” which when the name is searched on Google, reveals a lot of videos that are not affiliated with WWE…and are not PG-rated.

According to TMZ.com, popular adult film company BangBros. saw a 56 percent rise in traffic on Aug. 3 following the announcement of WWE’s new Submission Sorority, as well as a 35 percent rise in website subscriptions. The company believes that this is due to what pops up when “Submission Sorority” is typed into a search engine.

TMZ writes the following regarding the situation, claiming that BangBros. even plans to send WWE CEO Vince McMahon a “thank you” basket due to their rise in numbers.

“During “Monday Night Raw,” WWE unveiled Submission Sorority — the new official team name for sexy Divas … Paige, Becky, and Charlotte. Sure, it’s a badass name … but an Internet search for the team points you to tons of links for a porn series called HazeHer, produced by BangBros.

Social media went nuts after ‘Raw’ — some people thought it was hilarious, but others were pissed kids could be exposed to porn.

BangBros traffic analyst Delilah Mcginnis says their web traffic shot up 56% overnight, and they saw a 35% rise in subscriptions.

Not shockingly, we’re told the porn co. plans to send Vince McMahon a ‘thank you’ gift basket — God only knows what will be in it.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also commented on the situation, saying that WWE is already planning to change the stable’s name, possibly to “Submission Sisters.” He writes,

“The WWE debuted the name The Submission Sorority for Charlotte, Lynch and Paige on Raw, but that may be short-lived. The company didn’t do its research and quickly found out that was the name of a porn site.

I’ve heard it could be changed to Submission Sisters and the idea of Horsewomen has always been thrown around although that would be stepping on Ronda Rousey’s toes.”

Meltzer incorrectly claims there is a “Submission Sorority” website, but that’s not the case.

Editor’s Note:

I said this Monday night…WWE REALLY needs to double-check these types of things before they announce them. A simple search to be sure there were no other wrestling stables named that should have showed them the pornography links. Someone’s getting fired over this. Triple H’s entire argument about why Chyna isn’t in the WWE Hall of Fame is because the company doesn’t want kids Googling her name, and finding porn…and then…this happens. Not. Smart.
