This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. It seems that almost every day, the new wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling, or AEW, is taking another step forward to make themselves serious competitors to WWE. However, in order to compete on that level, the company needs a major television deal.

That may actually be the case.

According to a recent episode of Wrestling Observer RadioDave Meltzer mentioned that AEW met with various television network executives to negotiate a deal. Although nothing is officially in place, the feeling backstage is that the final decision will be from one of two “legitimate” TV deals offered.

If one of these deals comes through, Meltzer claims it is the best TV deal that any non-WWE wrestling show will have secured since the days of WCW on the Turner Broadcasting Systems.

With talent like Chris Jericho joining the company, they have instant credibility for a deal:

Editor’s Opinion:

If AEW can make this happen, this will be another major step towards being a legitimate contender to WWE. And they haven’t even held an official event yet.
