In one of the major stories in recent weeks, Chris Jericho has signed a contract with the new All Elite Wrestling promotion, known as AEW. In addition, he has said that it is the best contract that he has signed in his entire career.

Naturally, news of this has reached the WWE locker room. How have they taken it?

According to the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, many people within the company have been either stunned or ‘freaked out’ by the news. This is due to the fact that while the deal is not worth as much as what John Cena or Brock Lesnar would be making, Jericho is still being paid more than most of the talent in WWE.

With the amount of money that AEW is willing to pay Jericho, the idea of Lesnar joining the company has been talked about. That being said, Dave Meltzer believes that Vince McMahon will be willing to pay almost anything to not lose The Beast to either UFC or AEW.

Editor’s Opinion:

I’m not sure why the WWE talent would be freaking out about Jericho’s AEW contract; he’s one of the greatest performers of all time and is worth every penny that he is making. There could be something else I’m missing, but this is all I have at the moment.
