History has a way of repeating itself, with WWE storylines being no exception to the rule.

Tom Philips released a video this afternoon confirming that “The Viper” Randy Orton will be taking on Sheamus this Sunday at “SummerSlam,” in a rematch from their previous encounter at “Battleground” last month.

This match will be a continuation of their feud that has lasted throughout the summer, although it is unknown at this time if there will be a stipulation added to the match or not.

Sheamus is the current “Money In The Bank” contract holder, and as previously reported, is scheduled to win the WWE Championship at some point later this year.

This will be the second time Orton and Sheamus have squared off at a “SummerSlam” event, with Orton having defeated “The Celtic Warrior” at the pay-per-view in 2010.

Editor’s Note

Orton and Sheamus matches have been done to death. The feud smells of WWE not having anything important for either man to do. With Orton defeating Sheamus cleanly last month, what’s the point of a rematch? Then again, could Sheamus be cashing in his MITB on Sunday? That could change the complexion of this encounter.
