There were several memorable moments from “The Ultimate Deletion;” you can see several of them throughout the opinion piece.
This production was brilliant in every way, shape and form. The video production quality was outstanding, and there were so many laugh-out-loud moments, that it will be something that will be remembered for a long time.
“The Ultimate Deletion” is reminiscent of Hardy’s other productions in TNA, including “Delete Or Decay,” “The Final Deletion,” “Tag Team Apocolypto” and others. Thinking about these events, as well as witnessing WWE’s version has led me to one simple conclusion.
In my opinion, “The Ultimate Deletion” is why WWE brought Matt and Jeff Hardy back to WWE.
When “Broken” Matt Hardy made his debut in TNA in 2016, it took the wrestling world by storm. The character was unlike anything the sport had ever seen, and once again made him one of the most popular wrestlers in the world.
He had reinvented himself more than at any point in his career. And it was incredible.
TNA began producing segments such as “Delete or Decay,” and they were viewed in a similar regard as movies that were “so bad that they were good.” And fans could not wait for each one that was produced.
Fast forward to WrestleMania 33.
Matt and Jeff Hardy make their return to WWE, to one of the biggest ovations in recent memory. The video of their return current has over 25 million views, so you tell me if people were excited about this:
The “delete” fans that resonated throughout the arena indicated that people wanted the “Broken” Matt Hardy character to make their debut in WWE more than anything. Unfortunately, due to legal complications by Anthem Sports, the “Broken” gimmick was unable to be used in the company until recently.
In addition to “Woken” Matt, WWE fans wanted to see the incredibly creative cast of characters that make up House Hardy. These include Brother Nero (Jeff), Queen Rebecca, Señor Benjamin, King Maxel, Lord Wolfgang, and of course, who could forget Vanguard 1, the world’s most power drone?!?
I hope that WWE continues to make these videos, as they are truly MAGIC. The incredibly high television ratings will also tell you that fans want to see more of this too. “Woken” Matt Hardy is one of the most entertaining things that the company has going for it and people want to see it. It’s a winning combination.
Matt and Jeff need to each get one more run with a world title in WWE before their careers are over. The way that they have revolutionized themselves many times over the course of their career, and adapted with the times, has earned them the right to be face of the company at least once more.
At the end of the day, this is the character that fans want to see. It may take some time for House Hardy to win over the fans who did not see the “Broken” gimmick in TNA, but if they stick to their guns and keep moving this thing forward, the results could simply be WONDERFUL!!
