John Cena has always been known to be a resilient competitor, proving so once again this weekend.

It had been previously been reported that Cena had sustained an injury during a match with Kevin Owens at a Live Event Friday evening. It wasn’t enough to keep him down, though, as Cena was in action last night at a Live Event in Charlottesville, Virginia, defeating Owens in a Street Fight. He appeared to be just fine and competed as if nothing was wrong.

Below is a brief twitter exchange between the two superstars after their bout Friday:

This is certainly good news for WWE as they move forward in the month of September. Cena is currently scheduled to compete against Seth Rollins in a rematch for the United States Championship later this month at “Night of Champions.”

Owens defeated Cesaro both at “SummerSlam” and the following evening on “Monday Night Raw,’ and it is rumored that he will be facing Ryback for the Intercontinental Championship at “Night of Champions.”

Editor’s Note:

WWE is breathing a sigh of relief, I’m sure. Not only will Cena and Rollins put on another classic match at “Night of Champions,” but if Cena didn’t compete, it would certainly take away from part of the storyline between Rollins and Sting. The only thing that would have made this better is if the “injury” somehow happened while Cena was doing the springboard stunner, and it would cause him to consider taking the move away from his arsenal.
