Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev Confirmed for WWE “Night of Champions”

In keeping with WWE tradition, another rematch of a major pay-per-view encounter has officially been announced.

During the Sept. 7 airing of “Monday Night Raw,” it was confirmed that Dolph Ziggler will face Rusev at “Night of Champions” in a rematch from “SummerSlam.”

The match was announced after a segment in which Summer Rae came out to apologize to Rusev after saying that she was seduced by Ziggler last week on “Raw.” This brought Ziggler out, who after accusing Rusev and Summer Rae of lying about what transpired, attacked Rusev and sent both him and Summer Rae out of the ring.

Rusev is continuing to seek revenge against Lana after their split following his loss to John Cena for the United States Championship at WrestleMania earlier this year.

It has been previously reported that Lana may be out of action for up to four months following a wrist injury that she sustained while training.

It’s sad to see what has happened to Rusev since WrestleMania. He went from a bad-ass wrecking machine, to fighting over a diva who calls him “Ru-Ru.” And then there’s Ziggler, who is one of the most naturally talented athletes that WWE has to offer. Why is he not in the world title picture?
