According to a new report from Sports Illustrated, the reason that Cena was moved over was because he will be putting over and continuing to elevate Roman Reigns.
In addition, Vince McMahon feels that putting Cena on “Raw” will continue to elevate the ratings, because of the new talent that he will have the opportunity to work with.
From the report:
From a story-driven perspective, Cena also now has multiple fresh antagonists in Samoa Joe, The Drifter, and Braun Strowman. The plan is to continue to elevate Cena even more, and then use his elevation to put over Reigns.
The leader of the “CeNation” teamed with the “Big Dog” and were victorious against the team of The Miz and Samoa Joe in the main event of “Raw” this week.
Editor’s Note:
This makes sense. It’s perfectly clear that Roman Reigns is the future of WWE, and needs to work against all of the top talent in order to make that happen. In addition, this match is one that fans have wanted to see for a long time, and having both superstars on one show gives the potential for it to happen at any moment!
