As most are already aware, Ric Flair‘s health has taken a turn for the worse, and according to recent details that have emerged, his hospitalization could be extended for the next month.

According to a report by the New York Post, the wrestling legend was not admitted to the hospital for heart problems resulting from his alcoholic cardiomyopathy, as previously speculated, but rather abdominal pain. The pain led to doctors surgically removing a portion of his bowel to deal with an intestinal blockage. Unfortunately, he had further complications after the surgery which may make them keep him hospitalized for a month or more for further observation.

Flair, 68, has been open with his struggles with the bottle for years, as well as the physical toll it took on his body. He has chronicled his addiction in his 2015 autobiography as well as a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, which was published three days prior to his hospitalization in Atlanta.

Friends and family of Flair are still asking people to keep the superstar in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to battle in the hospital. Again, we will keep you updated on any changes as soon as we have any news.
