Jerry “The King” Lawler has spent some years wrestling on the independent circuit. He has shown that he is capable of still performing in the ring, and still draws fans to watch him perform every time he shows up.

As a performer, there is nothing else he would like more than to do the same in the WWE once more. But odds are this is never going to happen again.

On the latest episode of Dinner with the King, Lawler said that he feels that the WWE will never clear him to wrestle in the company ever again. He also went on to state that doctors within the WWE has never performed an in-depth exam to even attempt to clear him for performance.

The reluctance to clear him is likely attributed to his 2012 heart attack, which happened behind the commentator’s table in Montreal. Given that this never even happened in ring, their hesitance is indicative of the fact that the company neither wants to put his health in jeopardy nor be held liable should they do so, and he has yet another heart attack.

Given that he has renewed his contract with the WWE, we can expect his independent appearances to diminish, and with that his time in the ring.
