Main Roster Star Being Sent Down to NXT

Earlier this week we learned that ex-United States Champion “handsome” Rusev underwent shoulder surgery, which, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he was trying to avoid until WrestleMania.

According to Cageside Seats, Rusev’s wife, Lana, will be sent down to NXT while her husband is recovering from shoulder surgery. The purpose? Well, WWE is hoping that the Ravishing Russian will be able to improve her in-ring skills during Rusev’s recovery.

Lana has had a few matches down in NXT in recent months, but she’s only wrestled at the promotion’s non-televised live events. It’s unclear if she’ll actually be a part of the actual NXT television show, or if she’ll just be used on the brand’s live events.

Lana, who will turn 32 on March 24, has only had one televised match on the main roster, which took place at last year’s WrestleMania.
