And so it begins.

World Wrestling Entertainment has removed “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka from its Hall of Fame page, stemming off of charges laid against him for a case spanning nearly three decades.

The 72-year-old was charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of his then 23-year-old girlfriend Nancy Argentino from a 1983 case, according to TMZ.com. WWE issued the following statement following the report:

“WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”

The case was recently re-opened after an investigative report by The Morning Call revealed major discrepancies, including an autopsy report which made it out to be a homicide.

Argentino’s family won a wrongful death suit in 1985 for $500,000, with Snuka never paying the fees because he was broke and couldn’t afford a legal defense.

Snuka was inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony back in 1996.

His daughter Tamina Snuka is currently a part of WWE’s Divas Revolution on weekly television.

Hulk Hogan has also been removed from the Hall of Fame page after racist and homophobic comments of his were released to the public.

We here at WrestlingRumors.net will continue to update the Snuka story as more details are released.
