Perhaps Lana wasn’t working towards getting in the ring and competing after all.

WWE.com reported Monday that “The Ravishing Russian” hurt her wrist during a training session. If she goes under the knife, she could be forced to the sidelines for upwards of four months.

There were rumors of a possible Dolph Ziggler/Lana vs. Rusev/ Summer Rae mixed tag team match for “Night of Champions,” but with Lana’s injured wrist, a Ziggler vs. Rusev “SummerSlam” rematch has been booked instead.

Lana followed WWE’s statement of her injury with an Instagram post to fans, issuing her first comments.

“Every since I have debuted in @wwe I have continued to go to @wwenxt & come hours early before live events to train & learn how to fight,” she wrote.

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com reports that a source within the company has told him that Lana hasn’t been at the Performance Center in “forever,” which would dispute her claims of learning how to fight.

If she is in fact still dating Rusev, the couple would be situated in Nashville – far away from Orlando and the facilities.

There’s no confirmation on whether Lana’s “training” is merely part of a storyline, but at this point, it’s hard to argue otherwise.

Editor’s Note

So how did she injure her wrist, then?
