Former WWE and WCW star “Wildman” Marc Mero recently posted the following statement on his Facebook account:

“This morning Darlene and I will be boarding a plane to travel to the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. After seeing 3 heart specialists including visiting the Emory Heart & Vascular Center in Atlanta. I have been told I need heart surgery. I am blessed that the top surgeon in the US Lars Svensson, MD, PhD – Cleveland Clinic will be doing the surgery. I will be going through tests from 7am until 3pm tomorrow to determine when the surgery will take place.

I have an enormous Faith in God. I wake up every day with passion and purpose and realize there are so many people just trying to survive. I am so thankful!! I have a lot of people praying for me, family, friends & church. Just a bump in the road! We serve a mighty Big God. Looking forward to new results! God is in control. “I Believe!”

Mero, who also competed under the ring name ‘Johnny B. Badd,’ is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and WCW Television Champion.

He’s made appearances in schools and community colleges over the past several years, lecturing students on the dangers of drug abuse.

Editor’s Note

Here’s hoping Mero pulls through this ordeal. His faith in God is what will get him through this.
