In a rather shocking story, we may now have a reason as to why CM Punk was not present at “Monday Night Raw” on Jan. 27, as well as the SmackDown tapings in Toledo, OH, where he was advertised to appear.

According to a report by F4WOnline.com, Punk told Vince McMahon backstage at “RAW” that he was “going home” and immediately left the show.

He has now been pulled from all upcoming WWE House Shows and Live Events.

In a rather peculiar tweet (@CMPunk) from Monday morning, especially considering his absence from “RAW” later that night, Punk thanked all of his fans for their support.

In an interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani last week, Punk brought up the fact that his contract with WWE expires in July and that he wasn’t sure what his future holds beyond that point.

There is no word yet on whether Punk is battling an injury or if this entire situation will eventually become an on-air storyline, but considering how vocal he’s been in the past over his displeasure with the company, perhaps this is a sign that the CM Punk/WWE relationship is on very thin ice.
