What Will Be 2017’s Most Shocking Return?

With a new year upon us, wrestling fans have begun to dream of the big moments that could happen in 2017. One of the things that gets fans most excited, be it in execution or merely the speculation, is a surprise return. Anytime a big superstar comes back to the WWE it tends to folks revved up. We’ve already had a relatively notable return to the world of WWE, as Kassius Ohno has popped back up in NXT. However, as this video shows, returns often comes in even bigger packages than an indie wrestling legend.

This WWE video of “shocking returns” features some of the very biggest names in wrestling popping back up after extended absences, usually to the delight of the fans. We’re talking the biggest names in the history of wrestling. The Rock. Hulk Hogan. Shawn Michaels. Even the Ultimate Warrior. However, the video kind of undercuts the whole “shocking” element because during Brock Lesnar’s surprising return there is a fan holding up a “Brock is Back” sign. At least one person wasn’t shocked, evidently.

There have been murmurings of the likes of Kurt Angle, and perhaps even Hogan, popping back up in WWE. We know it won’t be a surprise, but Michaels and The Undertaker will be on Monday’s RAW. In the WWE, the chance of a big name suddenly returning is always right around the corner.
