On Monday, Jan. 26, following a controversial “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan teased fans about the two wrestling each other at WrestleMania 31. Ziggler furthered his teases about the potential match on Jan. 28, with the following tweet:

According to a report from Dave Meltzer, in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the social media chatter from Bryan and Ziggler is actually working towards a program between the two. WWE has reportedly changed its original plans for the two babyfaces, and will pursue a Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler match at WrestleMania 31.
As recently as Jan. 27, Bryan was still slated to face a returning heel Sheamus at WrestleMania 31, similar to previous plans for WrestleMania XXX. Regarding the new feud between Bryan and Ziggler, it remains to be seen if one of the two heavily-cheered stars will turn heel for the program.
Editor’s Note
Really good move by WWE to appease its fans. As good of a match Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan would have been, fans would much rather see something fresh like Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler. The latter match will undoubtedly tear the house down, no matter where it is on the card. As for the storyline, I would like to see the two remain babyface, building off of Ziggler’s tweet embedded in this post.
