On Tuesday, Jan. 13, WWE taped the Jan. 15 showing of “Smackdown,” the first on Thursday evenings in 2015, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The show also marked the first time Daniel Bryan has wrestled in more than seven months.
Below are the spoilers for the Jan. 15 edition of “Smackdown:”
To kick off “Smackdown,” Bryan Saxton interviewed Daniel Bryan, whose match with Kane will be the first match of the night.
1) Daniel Bryan def. Kane- Bryan got the win via disqualification upon interference from Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. Big Show and Seth Rollins then appeared, looking to attack Bryan. Roman Reigns came out to make the save, leading to Triple H putting a stop to the chaos. “The King of Kings” announced a six-man main event pitting Rollins, Show, and Kane against Bryan, Reigns, and whoever is willing to team up with them.
2) Damien Mizdow, The Miz, and Alicia Fox def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and Naomi in mixed-tag action
Next, Paul Heyman entered the ring to cut a promo. Heyman hit on what transpired on the Jan. 12 “Monday Night Raw,” and would be interrupted by a steaming Seth Rollins. Rollins informed Heyman of his desire to cash in his Money in the Bank Briefcase on Brock Lesnar right this second. To Rollins’ dismay, Heyman informed him that Lesnar is not at “Smackdown.” The two would end up cooling down, going as far to tease working together following the “Royal Rumble.”
3) Natalya def. Divas Champion Nikki Bella in a non-title match
4) Intercontiental Champion Bad News Barrett def. Sin Cara in a title match- BNB exacted revenge on Cara from last week, in what was said to be a very entertaining and good match.
5) Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, and Roman Reigns def. Kane, Seth Rollins, and Big Show- The match was described as a tremendous main event in which the babyfaces reigned supreme. All three babyfaces were extremely over with the crowd, as they stood tall to close “Smackdown.”
