In the big news story of the day, World Wrestling Entertainment has confirmed that the legendary ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage will be inducted into the 2015 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.

TMZ.com first broke the story early Monday afternoon. WWE will make an official announcement during the Jan. 12 episode of “Monday Night Raw.”

Savage’s brother Lanny Poffo appeared during a special report on the WWE Network to discuss his feelings on the induction.

“I had no thoughts. I was so excited. Intellectually, there was nothing. It was all emotional. I was happy for the fans. They waited for Bruno Sammartino for so many years and now they waited for Macho Man.”

Poffo also mentioned how his mother and his 30-year-old daughter are all really excited. He said that because of the WWE Network, “Randy will never die.”

The actual ceremony will take place on March 28, the night before WrestleMania 31.

It’s believed that Hulk Hogan will be the one inducting Savage.

Editor’s Note

I’m pleased to hear that Lanny is fully on board with this induction. There were problems between the company and the Poffo family in the past that prevented Savage from being inducted a lot earlier.
