After a very bad showing in”Monday Night Raw” viewership for the “go-home” show to the “Payback” event, the first “Raw” following the event rebounded greatly for WWE. In fact, TVByTheNumbers.com has released the hourly breakdowns for the episode, revealing that it averaged 4,146,000 viewers. The number is up about 15% from last week’s average of 3,602,000.
Hour one, featuring Batista quitting WWE, began with an average of 4,033,000 viewers. Then, for the second hour, viewership greatly rose, hitting its peak at 4,482,000 viewers. For the third and final hour, which saw one of the biggest surprises in 2014 in Seth Rollins’ turn on fellow Shield members Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, viewership dipped below four million, 3,925,000 viewers to be exact.
For the first time in a couple of weeks, WWE did not face any competition from the NHL or NBA, as the leagues’ final series are set to begin later this week. However, once again, WWE was bested by “Love & Hip Hop” on VH1. At its peak, “Raw” garnered a rating of 1.6 for adults aged 18-49.
Editor’s Note
This is a very good rebound for WWE following a tremendous pay-per-view. As WWE programming begins to improve from past weeks, hopefully these numbers remain steady.
