“The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley was recently on “The Drive with Marc James,” a CBS radio talk-show based in Charlotte, N.C. During the interview, Foley revealed that WWE offered him a new WWE legends contract. However, when continuing, Foley noted that he will likely not re-sign with WWE.
Below is an excerpt from Foley’s interview, in which he explains his reasoning:
“Honestly, I’m probably not going to sign my legends deal with WWE because I don’t think it did the right thing by the guys with the video game. The check was a little low. Last year, there was a bankruptcy [THQ,] but this year there wasn’t [2K Sports.] So, I don’t see the upside to signing the legends deal, when the carrot isn’t there dangling. So, I’m not going to sign my legends deal.”
As we previously reported, Foley’s contract with WWE expired during early March.Up until his contract ended, Foley worked as the General Manager of WWE’s “Saturday Morning Slam.” Back in January, Foley was disgusted with WWE’s handling of Daniel Bryan. However, in the end, all was good when Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX.
Editor’s Note
I’m completely fine with Mick Foley turning down WWE, and understand his reasoning behind not re-signing with the company.
