The man behind the one who is responsible for the “1” in 21-1, Paul Heyman, recently appeared on The MMA Hour with host Ariel Helwani. While in studio with Helwani, one of the topics at hand was former WWE Superstar CM Punk. Heyman stated that Punk’s goal in life is to never lace up his wrestling boots again, no matter what company it would be for.
Punk’s former manager also claimed that if CM Punk were to return to the squared circle, Punk would view himself as a failure. Heyman believes Punk’s reasoning for this is that his success in life based upon never going back on his words.
Heyman went on to state that he believes WWE doesn’t want anything to do with Punk ever again. However, Heyman noted that things could always change down the road, as many worse grudges have ended in the industry.
Be sure to listen to Heyman’s words, here. Heyman is also asked about the confrontation between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker at UFC 121.
On a related note, F4WOnline has posted a report in regards to the latest rumblings about the relationship between Punk and WWE. The report echoed Heyman’s words, as there’s a feeling within WWE that even if Punk wanted to return, the company would not bring him back. Additionally, it is still possible that some legal action will occur because of Punk’s departure.
Editor’s Note
I strongly agree with Punk’s words, and honestly believe he will never return just because of his mindset.
