Divas Title Match Made Official for “SummerSlam”

A Divas title match has been made official for “SummerSlam.” Current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee will again face Paige in a “Battleground” rematch for the title on Aug. 17 in Los Angeles.

Paige and Lee have been at odds since Lee’s return in June. Paige lost the WWE Divas Championship to Lee on June 30 in the same fashion that Lee lost the title to Paige on April 7, which led to a championship match between “frenemies” on July 20 at “Battleground.”

Lee returned from a three month sabbatical to regain her “baby,” the WWE Divas Championship, and wasn’t going to let it go at “Battleground.” She defeated Paige via pinfall at the event. The following night on “Monday Night Raw,” Paige attacked Lee and demolished the champion in brutal fashion.

She then attacked Lee on multiple occasions, with the latest attack coming during the Aug. 1 edition of “Smackdown,” when Paige threw Lee off the stage onto the floor below, “injuring” the champion in the process.

While multiple sites reported that Lee was “seriously injured” and suffered “whiplash” from the attack, but Lee’s injury is merely a storyline related angle and she will be “looking for revenge” during the Aug. 4 edition of “Monday Night Raw” either verbally or physically. The “5-Point Preview” for the episode claims that Lee will be aiming for Paige on Aug. 4, if she is medically able to do so.

Regardless of Lee’s “condition,” a match has been confirmed between the two femme fatales for “SummerSlam.”

We knew this was coming…yet predictable is not always a bad thing. I’m excited to see round two. Paige is better off heel. I love her aggression.
