On the April 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Triple H made his greatest effort to bring down The Shield. His effort was fueled by actions of The Shield on the April 7 showing of the program in which The Shield stood tall over Triple H, Batista, and Randy Orton. In fact, the WWE COO was laid out by a Roman Reigns spear.

For the main event of this week’s “Monday Night Raw,” Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, The Authority, made a match pitting The Shield against surprise opponents. The surprise opponents for Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins would be 11 heels, doing The Authority’s dirty work.

Following the match, the numbers-game caught up to The Shield as their eleven foes were able to get the best of them. As the trio laid helpless in the ring, Motorhead’s “Line in the Sand,” the theme song for the Evolution stable, played. Batista, Orton, and Triple H then made their way to the ring together, signifying the reformation of Evolution. After the three got to the ring, they beat down The Shield even further, hitting their respective finishers on the “Hounds of Justice.” Shortly before “Monday Night Raw” went off the air, Triple H mocked The Shield’s catchphrase, stating, “Believe in Evolution.”

Editor’s Note

This likely confirms that The Shield will square off against Evolution at “WWE Extreme Rules,” meaning that Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Kane at the event.

Overall, I loved how the reformation of Evolution played out, and would love to see Ric Flair return to WWE programming in order to rejoin the stable.
