The following are the spoilers for the September 16 edition of WWE Smackdown. The episode was filmed on Tuesday the 10, in Ottawa, Ontario:

The show opens with Lilian Garcia singing the the Canadian National Anthem. Michael Cole and JBL make their way down the entrance ramp to announce the show. Cole receives some heat, while JBL gets a pop as well as “JBL” chants.

The show opens with Big Show and he is being forced to apologize to Triple H for his actions on Monday Night Raw and his failure to do a “simple job.” He also is forced to apologize to the WWE Universe for these actions. Triple H then interrupts to a mixed reaction. The COO explains to Big Show how a business is run. Triple H again receives “asshole” chants along with “What?” chants. Triple H then decides to suspend Big Show one night without pay, and explains how this will hurt the already “broke” Big Show. The Shield then interrupts and attacks Big Show. Show is able to fight them off, but eventually is hit with a steel chair by Roman Reigns. The Shield then hit their triple power-bomb to end the segment.

It is announced that Michael Cole will interview Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel later on.

1) Layla, Aksana, and Alicia Fox def. Naomi, Natalya, and Brie Bella via disqualification- Natalya gets a nice pop from the Canadian crowd, and AJ Lee is on commentary. During the six-woman match, AJ interferes as Natalya goes for the sharpshooter. For an unknown reason, the victory goes to the team of Layla, Aksana, and Alicia Fox via DQ even though Natalya was the one attacked. The seven women brawl after the match.

Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler is announced for later.

Vickie Guerrero comes out to cut a promo, but she receives so much heat that it was hard to hear what she was saying.

Next, R-Truth and Fandango are competing in a dance competition. The Miz then comes out wearing a big afro, dubbing himself “Mizco Inferno.” He states that there can be no dance competition with the most must-see superstar of all-time. The Great Khali also comes out in order to compete. Miz then does his own version of twerking as R-truth eggs him on. Everyone dances with Khali with the exception of Fandango and Summer Rae. The Miz ends up receiving the biggest reaction and wins. Fandango then says everyone is a disgrace to the art of dancing, and then gets knocked out of the ring.

The seven divas are out again to re-shoot the brawl from earlier. This time, Naomi, Natalya, and Brie Bella beat down AJ Lee.

A Ryback segment then follows. Ryback says the crowd doesn’t know his linguistic skills and says he is a great interview. He then introduces a man from Ottawa who says he is 6’4′ 180 lbs. The man wants to get in the ring with Ryback, but gets slapped by him. Ryback then states that it is his dream to beat the holy hell out of people like the man.

In a backstage segment with Vickie Guerrero, She says Ricardo Rodriguez will not be allowed in Rob Van Dam’s corner at Night of Champions because she fears for his safety. The General Manager of Smackdown then sets up Ricardo vs. Del Rio for later.

2) Santino Marella def. Damien Sandow- Before the match, Sandow cuts a promo on how he will free the crowd from their ignorance. The match lasts about two minutes with Santino hitting The Cobra on the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank contract holder.

Up next is Michael Cole’s interview with Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel. A video package showcasing the Punk-Heyman feud is shown. Axel says that Punk will not get to Heyman at Night of Champions because Punk can’t beat him. Heyman then says he’s not a man of war but instead an advocate of peace. He follows up by calling for a boycott of the handicap match. Heyman says if the WWE Universe buys Night of Champions, Punk will get his hands on him. Heyman continues by saying Punk will find some way to get around Axel and attack him. CM Punk chants then start up. Heyman says Punk will slaughter him, and he can’t believe that this is the last time people will see Paul Heyman. He continues by saying he will always love CM Punk. The fans then sing “Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye” as Heyman leaves.

3) Alberto Del Rio def. Ricardo Rodriguez- Del Rio does not get much of a reaction, unlike Ricardo and Van Dam who get good pops. Del Rio ends up winning with a top rope reverse suplex. After the match, Del Rio puts his former manager in the cross arm breaker, but Rob Van Dam makes the save. “The Whole F’n Show” then hits the World Heavyweight Champion with the Five-Star Frogsplash and stands tall over Del Rio with the belt.

4) Dolph Ziggler def. Dean Ambrose via disqualification- Both men receive nice reactions and put on a good match. The Shield end up interfering to give Ziggler the win via DQ, but The Usos end up making the save. Vickie Guerrero then makes an impromptu six-man tag match that puts Ziggler and The Usos against The Shield.

5) The Shield def. Dolph Ziggler and The Usos– Seth Rollins is able to get his knees up after an attempted splash from The Usos and is then able to pick up the win. The crowd was said to be very into the match, and loved the finishing sequence.

Next up is The Cutting Edge. Edge gets a huge pop and “Thank you Edge.” chants. Edge then tells Christian to tear The Shield apart when he comes back. Orton then comes out to some heat. Next to come out, is Daniel Bryan who receives a massive pop along with the accompanying “YES!” chants. Orton tells Edge that Edge is jealous that he is a ten-time champion as opposed to just a talk show host. Edge then fires back telling Orton that he is an eleven-time champion, one more time than Orton.

Edge goes on to say that he knows what’s best for business, and the fans start chanting “YES!” Bryan says his dream has always been to hold the WWE Championship, not be a part of some corporation. Bryan again states that he will beat Orton at Night of Champions. Orton then cheap shots Bryan, but Bryan ends up getting the upper hand when it’s all said and done. Edge leaves the ring, while Bryan puts Orton in the “Yes Lock.” Orton ends up tapping out, as Bryan stands tall with the fans chanting “YES” along with “You tapped out” directed at Orton.
