Former WWE superstar and D-Generation X member Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, recently did an interview with Sports Illustrated, where he revealed which Attitude Era star almost became a part of the legendary faction, as he said that Vince Russo — who was WWE’s main writer at the time — once tried to put Val Venis in the group.

“[Vince] Russo wanted to put Val Venis in DX, but we said no. We stuck to our guns because he wasn’t right for DX. So, for Bullet Club, if New Japan or Ring of Honor wants Bullet Club to do something they don’t want to do, Bullet Club needs to remember this is their creation and their baby. Stick to your guns. If you feel like someone is not right, then don’t let it be done.”

X-Pac didn’t explain why Russo wanted to put Val Venis in DX, but if I had to guess, it’s because the faction’s catchphrase was “SUCK IT,” and Val Venis had a male porn star gimmick, so you can see the tie-in there.
