While last year’s WrestleMania 32 was the biggest event in WWE history in terms of live attendance, it lacked a compelling and unpredictable main event. But, that’s not the case with this year’s show, as Vince McMahon reportedly wants the Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg rematch to close out WrestleMania 33.
Furthermore, the Lesnar vs. Goldberg match will be for the Universal Championship, per Cageside Seats. Why? Because Vince McMahon wants to make it one of the biggest matches in company history, and he thinks people will be more interested in the match if a title is on the line. So expect Goldberg to run right through Kevin Owens at Fastlane.
“Goldberg will likely carry the Universal title into WrestleMania because Vince McMahon wants his match with Brock Lesnar to be the biggest thing on that card. It is almost a lock to go on last in Orlando.”
The first Lesnar vs. Goldberg rematch took place back in November, when the ex-WCW World Heavyweight Champion took down The Beast in less than two minutes. In the weeks leading up to the show, most were predicting that Lesnar would defeat Goldberg, and move on to face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33. But, things changed when Goldberg agreed to do more than just one match.
