We already know that John Cena is scheduled to team with Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33, where the duo will take on The Miz and Maryse. But, what will the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion be doing after WrestleMania? Well, at this point, the answer shouldn’t surprise you.

According to WrestleZone, Cena is scheduled to take a long hiatus following April 2’s big event in Orlando. In fact, according to the site, Cena will be away from WWE until November’s Survivor Series. So it looks like we won’t see the former WWE Champ for nearly eight months.

The Hollywood brass believe that Cena might be the second coming of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which is why he’s being offered so many non-WWE projects.

Last year, Cena said that WWE is his number one priority, and that he wants to keep wrestling as long as he’s physically able to. But, at the age of 39, it’s clear that WWE’s longtime posterboy is preparing for the next phase of his life.

Are you surprised to hear that John Cena will miss the majority of this year? Who do you think should be the face of SmackDown while he’s gone? Let us know in the comments below, or over on Facebook!
