We’re only a few weeks away from WWE’s annual Royal Rumble event, which will feature two Rumble matches — one for the men, and one for the women. Both matches will feature 30 superstars.
As of this writing, there are only 16 confirmed entrants for the women’s Royal Rumble: Asuka, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Bayley, Naomi, Natalya, Paige, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, Tamina Snuka, Lana, and Carmella.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some of the unannounced spots will go to a few of the women in NXT, and, as was teased by Kurt Angle during Monday’s Raw, there will probably be a few surprise entrants in the match, with the most likely surprises being Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Beth Phoenix, and Trish Stratus.
The men only have 9 confirmed entrants: John Cena, Finn Balor, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Elias, Baron Corbin, Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe, and Bray Wyatt. During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Batista could end up being a surprise entrant in this year’s Rumble, and it’s also likely that Dolph Ziggler, who recently “walked out” on WWE will make his return during the match as a “surprise.”
