AJ Styles and a returning Chris Jericho confront Kevin Owens: SmackDown LIVE, July 25, 2017

Chris Jericho made a surprise return on this past Tuesday’s SmackDown Live, as he participated in a triple threat match for the United States Championship against Kevin Owens and AJ Styles.

Was Chris Jericho’s return just a one time deal? Or is he going to be a regular on the blue brand for the foreseeable future? On Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer answered both of those questions.

“Jericho’s return came out of nowhere,” Meltzer said. “I’m not sure what his schedule is right now. I mean, he’s not advertised or listed for any shows going forward, but the reaction was certainly like he’s back. I know he’s still got concert stuff coming up, but aside from that, I don’t know if he’s got anything until September, and I think it’s like maybe one show. I know he’s got something in Sacramento in October, and then he’s got a European tour like October 27 to November 18. So, there is concert stuff there, so I wasn’t really expecting him back until December or January.”
