WWE’s annual Royal Rumble match typically has a few surprise entrants (NXT call-ups, returning legends, etc.) and many are wondering if Chris Jericho will be one of the surprise entrants in this year’s match.

The answer, sadly, is no.

Chris Jericho’s band, Fozzy, has a show on the day of the Rumble (Jan. 28) in Paris, France.

Furthermore, Jericho also has a show with Fozzy on the day of WrestleMania 34 (Apr. 8) in Hampton, New Hampshire. The final day of the tour is April 21 in Orlando, so don’t expect him to return to WWE or New Japan Pro Wrestling until late-April at the earliest.

Chris Jericho Special Interview : "Alpha vs Omega" January 4th 2018

During a recent interview with Proresu Today, and teased another match in New Japan by saying the following:

“I’ve said maybe me and Kenny will never happen again. But I never said I’d only do one match. I never said this would be my last match with New Japan. Wait and see.”

So we might see Jericho back in New Japan before he’s back in WWE.
