It’s a better holiday. Last week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw”, which aired live on Christmas night for the first time ever, drew an audience that was slightly down from the previous week, which had to be expected. This week’s show was up against some very stiff competition in the form of the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl football games, which at one point were airing at the same time. So how did this week’s show do?

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw” drew a .97 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.865 million viewers. These numbers are up 16% and 6% over last week’s .84 rating and 2.704 million viewers. Both numbers are the best since November 20, which drew a 1.04 rating and 3.074 million viewers.

Opinion: Considering what the show was up against, these numbers are actually very strong. The football games were dominant performers and there’s not much of a way around that but WWE managed to get its audience up anyway. The problem is going to be next week with the National Championship game, but at least these numbers offer a bit of hope.
