According to WrestlingInc, several NXT superstars  and a Mae Young Classic competitor were backstage at ‘Smackdown Live’ last night.

If there is one thing fans like to do, it is to speculate. Last night, the ‘Iconic Duo’ Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were both backstage for ‘Smackdown Live.’

We have heard reports that there were more superstars from NXT backstage, but no names were confirmed.

While you can take away your own conclusion as to why they were backstage, it is worth noting that the show was in Orlando, Florida which is close to where many NXT talent live and where the NXT weekly show is filmed at Full Sail University.

In addition to this, Tessa Blanchard who competed in the Mae Young Classic was seen backstage hanging out with Charlotte Flair and Natalya.

You can see Blanchard in the photos from Twitter below:

It is worth noting that t is expected that Blanchard is one of four superstars from the independent circuit expected to sign with NXT this year. This is alongside Ricochet and the tag team known as War Machine.

If you’ve never seen either member of the ‘Iconic Duo’ compete, we think it is about time you did. We have included a video below featuring the two competing against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riott in a match with NXT.

Who would you like WWE to sign from the Mae Young Classic? Do you expect Blanchard was there for contract negotiations?
