Rumor: Sable Turned Down WWE’s Offer to Appear at ‘Evolution’

Back in the early days of the Attitude Era, Sable was WWE’s main female attraction. She would step into the ring for some action, but her appeal was the sex appeal angle of the era. For a long time, there was no one hotter than Sable. She made a WWE return in the early 00’s on SmackDown, but she hasn’t appeared on WWE television for a long time.

According to a report from RingSideNews, WWE officials invited her to be a part of the Evolution PPV. It’s highly unlikely she would have wrestled, but Sable could have been featured in a small role to say hello to the WWE Universe. Apparently, she was the one who turned down the offer for undisclosed reasons. However, the reason is quite clear.

Since she’s put wrestling behind her and is content in her personal life, there’s no real value in a WWE return for her. Yes, the fans would embrace her. Of course, there are possibilities for her to be in Brock Lesnar’s corner or manage someone on the current roster. It seems she isn’t interested in being in the spotlight again even for one night.

On paper, the most logical thing to do would be to honor her with a WWE Hall of Fame induction. There’s no doubting her star power back in the late-90’s and her importance to the Attitude Era. However, she suffers from the same stigma that holds back WWE’s induction of Chyna. Sable’s work in the adult entertainment industry is a big problem.

WWE officials just don’t want to endorse someone like Chyna or Sable and have kids go on the internet to find graphic material. That’s understandable, but WWE officials have her on the brain since she was invited to be a part of Evolution. In a few months, Sable’s name might still be in mind when the time comes to announce the HOF class of 2019.
