The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is cursed. Cesaro won the match the first year, but not even the heat of Paul Heyman could give him a quality run after Wrestlemania 30.

Damien Sandow had the biggest moment of his career in the match but lost the match to Big Show, who did nothing with the victory. Now, Sandow is released, and Big Show has little momentum to speak of right now.

At Wrestlemania 32, Baron Corbin debuted from NXT and surprised everyone by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

It was obvious that WWE had big plans for him, and he would be skyrocketed to stardom on the main roster. His feud with Dolph Ziggler was decent, but his momentum cooled. Now, he’s floating around like many others.

However, it seems that WWE hasn’t given up on Corbin, and they’ve got something planned for him. Tonight on Raw, WWE aired the following hype video trying to reignite his momentum on the main roster:

As a strong midcard heel, there are many opponents for Corbin to face and develop feuds with, especially after the brand split. It’s going to be interesting to see what WWE does with Baron Corbin over the next few weeks.

Do you think Baron Corbin has the potential to be a major player over the next few years?
