Two weeks ago, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was suspended indefinitely by WWE after domestic charges were places against him due to an incident with his fiancee.
David Otunga was selected to replace him at commentary with Corey Graves on deck. WWE was preparing for Lawler to be done with the company, but it was more of a two-week vacation for him than the end of the road.
According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, there is some great new for The King. the domestic assault charges against Lawler and his fiancee, Lauryn McBride were dropped earlier today in Memphis.
Lawler’s attorney Ted Hansom referred to the entire incident as “a big misunderstanding that won’t happen again. We are happy with the outcome.”
In light of the charges being dropped, it is also being reported by RingSideNews.com that WWE has lifted the suspension of Jerry Lawler. WWE made the following statement about it:”Jerry Lawler’s legal matter has been resolved, and his suspension has been lifted, effective immediately.”
The expectation is that Lawler will resume his commentary duties on SmackDown, and the issue will be swept under the rug. WWE is getting shockingly good at doing that.
Do you think Jerry Lawler should remain SmackDown’s heel commentator after the WWE Draft?
