No matter what is going to happen with Kurt Angle over the next year or few years regarding him continuing to wrestle for TNA or choosing to return to WWE, he’s going to have to make a decision because TNA just offered him a different kind of future in wrestling.
According to PWInsider.com, TNA has reportedly offered Kurt Angle a contract with TNA would be a non-wrestling role similar to the one Hulk Hogan had a few years ago, but it would give him the opportunity to wrestle if the situation presents itself.
TNA’s offer would see Angle acting as the face of TNA and one of the core ambassadors of the company. He would act as a “living legend” if you will for the promotion. A big part of this role would also be to work with younger talent to the sake of helping them improve.
As of this writing, Kurt hasn’t accepted the offer. But, if he wants time off from wrestling, this may be the best way to stay in the spotlight without having to wrestle.
As far as the rumors of a WWE Hall of Fame induction on the horizon or rumors of his return to WWE after his current deal with TNA expires, Angle recently did an interview with Sports Illustrated and said the following:
“As far as WWE, I’m not going to talk to them,” said Angle. “But I know my ability is just as good as it ever was. If WWE thinks I’m too old, or my body isn’t durable or that I have a problem with medication–which I obviously don’t, I’ve been clean and sober for two years and nine months–but the issue has nothing to do with my talent.
Of course. I think I’ll end up in the Hall of Fame, but I just don’t know if WWE will ever want me to wrestle again. It’s up to them, and it’s up to me. I don’t know what I’m going to do. But if I do decide to do it, it would be nice. A lot of people would like to see it, so we’ll see what happens.”
