Here's When Charlotte Flair Will Return to SmackDown Live

At Money in the Bank, Charlotte Flair failed to win the briefcase in the Women’s Ladder Match. She’s one of the few stars on the roster who truly doesn’t need the contract since she will always be involved in the title hunt. However, she’s taking some time off to heal from a ruptured breast implant that has actually been plaguing her for several months.

According to a report from RingSideNews, Charlotte needs quite some time to recovery from the surgery. As a result, she’s not expected to appear on WWE television or wrestle at Extreme Rules in July at all. The likely date for her return would be after the Extreme Rules next month to begin her next feud heading into the biggest party of the summer.

Depending on how WWE officials book the SmackDown Women’s Championship over the next two months, Charlotte could be featured in the title match in Summerslam. The likelihood of Asuka vs. Carmella continuing into the event is very high. It’s also possible Flair could challenge Carmella for the title or book a rematch with Asuka in Brooklyn.

Asuka vs. Charlotte II could be an exciting way to book the SmackDown Women’s Title, but a lot of people would be unhappy with the later always getting a spot at the top of the card in the women’s division. Charlotte might be better served to work with a heel at Summerslam and elevate them to the next level in the company and on SmackDown.

WWE officials still have weeks to figure out the creative plans for Charlotte and the rest of the SmackDown Live roster. There’s no question “The Nature Girl” will have a major role once she returns to WWE programming. However, she could use a break, even if it was to nurse an injury. She’s going to come back fully healthy and Charlotte Flair is one of the best wrestlers on the planet when healthy. Actually, she can be when she’s not.
