The New Day has been a staple of the WWE product for almost three years. The stable’s run has been something special, but the WWE Universe has seen them conquer the tag team scene on Raw and SmackDown Live. It was always just a matter of time before Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods returned to other divisions as singles competitors.

There have been rumors about WWE officials looking at Big E specifically for a big run as a singles star. A lot of people see him being capable of reaching the next level, but the WWE Universe is expecting him to turn on The New Day for a heel turn. Traditionally, it has been the way to end a stable, but WWE might have something different planned.

According to a rumor from CageSideSeats, WWE officials are looking into pushing Big E, Kingston, and Woods as singles stars within the group. It does not seem there’s any kind of a breakup angle coming and the plan is for the trio to act as singles stars together. For instance, Kofi Kingston’s inclusion in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is how WWE is planning to push the stable moving forward.

It’s unclear if WWE officials are planning to push them all at the same time, or one at a time. The WWE Universe has come to know them as a trio, so it’s going to be interesting to see how booking them as singles stars is going to work. However, keeping the stable together will allow them to continue selling merchandise and tickets for the company.

On WWE programming, the trio won’t be restricted as a tag team anymore, but can still be featured in multi-man matches. Most stables also tend to end the same way. It’s nice to see the powers that be trying something new. If it doesn’t work, the worst thing that happens is WWE officials book one of them to run the traditional “heel turn” angle.
