Shawn Michaels Coming Out of Retirement For “Royal Rumble” Match?

First and foremost, this is just a rumor, and it’s exceptionally unlikely to become a reality. The Heartbreak Kid has been extremely vocal about his retirement in 2010 and never going back on his word.

However, The Nature Boy Ric Flair mentioned on his the most recent episode of the “Wooooo! Nation” podcast with guest Chris Jericho that Vince McMahon is attempting to get Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement to work the “Royal Rumble” match for the Roman Reigns WWE Championship this Sunday in Orlando.

It’s unfortunate, but even if he wanted to do so, Shawn Michaels hasn’t wrestled in almost five years. True, it’s not the first time in his career that he’s taken off significant time.

However, his retirement always seemed like it was related to his personal life, so it’s curious why he would choose now to return if there is any truth to what Flair said on the podcast.

Keep your ear to the ground because you can never truly say never in the industry and if Michaels is getting involved this weekend, he’s most likely Wrestlemania 32 bound.
