While Seth Rollins was away from the ring recovering, there was a debate about his finisher and if it was a good opportunity to change it from The Pedigree to something new.
However, he returned a “Extreme Rules” and dropped Roman Reigns with it. It seems that he’ll continue to use it despite The Curb Stomp being the perfect finisher for him during his first run.
Recently, Rollins appeared on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast to discuss his return, his heat with Bret Hart, and he revealed why The Curb Stomp was banned by the company.
You can listen to the full interview right here. Below is Rollins’ take on The Curb Stomp being banned.
“It was right after I won the WWE Title at Wrestlemania, and I just think that it was the first time Vince thought about it, because they were sending footage to the Today Show, because I was there. Aside from it having a fairly violent name, the visual of it, he was watching it, and he just thought it could be easily imitated by young children.”
“Me using the Pedigree was a fight. It took a little while to get there. Funny story, I texted Hunter about it, and he made some sort of joke that I took as him just skirting around it, and not wanting to say anything. So I went directly to Vince, and I was like ‘Vince, what do you think of me using the Pedigree?’ And he was like, ‘I love it. It’s great, it’s perfect, it fits right in with the story.’”
