Rumor: WWE Debuting Women’s Tag Team Championship at Evolution

The WWE Universe has been advocating for the women’s division to have tag team titles for a long time. With Raw and SmackDown having only one championship to chase, it’s left several performers lost in the midcard. Asuka, Bayley, and others have all lost some momentum because WWE has failed to add more championships to the entire division.

When Stephanie McMahon made the announcement on Raw about WWE Evolution, the WWE Universe believed she would be announcing the Women’s Tag Team Titles. There has been a lot of speculation about the titles being announced for the event, but WWE officials may be saving the reveal for the show as a big surprise for the WWE Universe.

According to a report from Rajah, it’s really likely that Stephanie McMahon will unveil the titles this week on Raw or at Evolution. Before WrestleMania 32, WWE gave Lita the chance to announce the new WWE Women’s Championship and this could be a similar situation. The biggest question is who would compete for the championship at the show.

On paper, Lita and Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss and Mickie James could be a great match to determine the first champions. It has been reported that Lita and Trish are extending their run for more matches. The belief is the titles would be shared by both brands so it would be defended between brands more often than not, which is a very exciting idea.
