Rumor: Loser of Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Revenge Is Headed to The Main Roster

Last night on this week’s edition of NXT, it was confirmed that Samoa Joe will defend the NXT Championship against Finn Balor in the brand’s first-ever Steel Cage match.

It’s set to be the end of the Balor vs. Joe feud that has been pivotal to NXT programming for the last eight months. As the conclusion of their feud ends, it’s not only going to make a huge impact on NXT but on the main roster as well.

According to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Steel Cage match at NXT Takeover: Revenge will be the blowoff match between Balor and Joe.

After Takeover: Revenge, the expectation is that the booking will revolve around bringing the loser coming to the main roster shortly after the event.

As of this writing, there is no official word about WWE creative plans for either man to come to the main roster since either man would come to Raw and SmackDown and do well. ‘

Having said that, there have been some rumors about Finn Balor being called up sooner rather than later. It’s possible that WWE could have him debut as the NXT Championship, but we should expect great things from Balor this summer no matter what happens.
